Jane Boyd, MSN, RN, NCSN | Published on 6/8/2022
The National Association of School Nurses has announced that Ann Nichols will be inducted as a 2022 Nursing Fellow of the National Academy of School Nursing at this year’s annual meeting. Ann has been a member of NASSNC since 2012 and has served NASSNC as President, Member at Large and chair for a number of committees. She was the 2019 NASSNC Outstanding State Consultant of the Year. Most recently she initiated the monthly NASSNC Community of Practice, an open time for members to informally meet to request and share resources and to support each other in the challenging position of State Consultant. “The honor of Fellow is the most prestigious recognition that members can receive from the National Association of School Nurses. It is a symbol of superior achievement in the school nursing professional and exceptional contributions to NASN and the profession of school nursing (NASN)”. Ann retired as State School Health Nurse Consultant for North Carolina in December 2021, and is now an independent consultant, educator and researcher in school nursing practice.
